The concept of Dr. Kwek-Kwek is making available popular “street food” to mall patrons who would otherwise be averse to buying these products from street vendors due to concerns regarding quality and safety.
Among the “street food” offered are balut, penoy, kwek-kwek, tokneneng, and day-old chicks, and very recently an addition to our menu is the meatlog (meatballs with quial egg on stick), Pickled Quail Eggs, and Salted Eggs, all of which can be considered Filipino snack staples but this time prepared or cooked cleanly using quality ingredients. To complement our products is the gulaman drink which is proudly an original recipe of Dr. Kwek-Kwek, using all natural ingredients. Part of the concept also is to package these products in plastic cups and eaten with barbecue sticks for easier handling and minimizing mess for mall-goers who are quite mobile and conscious of time as they do their shopping.
The company proved successful in the foodcart / kiosk business, which ushered them to take on another challenge and entered into dine-in type kitchenette restaurant, a larger scale of business that carries the core products of dr. kwek-kwek, eggpspecialist with the addition of home cook meals, and short orders. A bold and challenging move by the company that became equally rewarding and successful as well. Our very first kitchenette restaurant opened in Fiesta Market at Fort Bonifacio Global City.
